Baptism Prepartion

Preparing parents  for the Sacrament of Baptism, we have classes on the 1st Monday of the month, at 8 PM, in the Parish Center. Both parents are expected to attend these classes. Parents must be registered parishioners and must register for class by contacting the parish office. Baptismal dates cannot be arranged until both parents have attended the Preparation Class.

Much preparation is made when parents are expecting a child, cribs, bassinets, mobiles, stuffed animals, stockpiles of diapers are all essential needs acquired for baby’s arrival at home. Perhaps new wallpaper is applied to the baby’s room or a fresh coat of paint. Clothes and toys are carefully chosen with due regard for warmth and safety. Every temporal need is thought about and arranged for even long before the baby’s birth with pre-natal care attended to from the moment of awareness of becoming pregnant. Even so, frequently little attention is given or time spent thinking about preparing for the child’s spiritual well being. We therefore encourage parents to arrange for their child’s baptism while you are pregnant before you give birth. Come and register the child for the baptism, attend the preparation class and prayerfully reflect during this time of anticipation on the wonderful miracle and gift of life that God is "...knitting in your womb".

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the first four Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM in the winter and 12:30PM in the summer in the Main Church. A Baptismal preparation class is required.

Please call the office at 732.946.4487 ext 201 to register for a Baptism Preparation Class.
